The selection process for Assistant Loco Pilot posts is mainly conducted through a written objective examination. The stages involved are as follows:
Stage 1 – CBT 1 (Computer-Based Test ):
The RRB ALP Exam Pattern 2026 has been slightly changed. There will be 75 questions; the exam time is 60 minutes. The questions in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) 1 exam are asked from Mathematics, General Intelligence & Reasoning, and General Science.
Stage 2 – CBT 2 (Computer-Based Test ):
RRB ALP 2026-27 CBT 2 examination will also be conducted in online mode. The total time duration for the CBT 2 exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes. Candidates who will clear the CBT 1 and 2 examination be called for round 3, i.e. Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), and after that, the final selection list will be prepared. There shall be no negative marking in the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) round.
Stage 4 – Document Verification & Medical Examination:
Candidates who qualify for the written examination cutoff will be invited for document verification to check their original educational and category certificates.
